Bless the fall of troy.

On a happier hope-filled note, both blessthefall and The Fall of Troy (Two of my favourite bands) released their new albums last Tuesday the 6th (October 09). Needless to say, both are amazing.

The Fall of Troy’s “In the unlikely event” has the amazing guitar riffs that I was expecting, the creative genius of Thomas Erak, and the new screams of the amazing Frank Ene, that makes the fall of troy unique not only in their genre, but in the whole music world. As a friend said recently “I feel only listening to this makes me a better guitarist”. This album lacks the cheesiness of some of the Doppelgänger songs (Don’t get me wrong, I love them all) and incorporates a lot of pop type choruses, which make it easier to listen to without everyone looking at you as if you’re a weirdo listening to experimental things they wouldn’t understand.

Overall, I miss a lot of their doppelgänger sounds and songs, but this is also an amazing album. I just hope it doesn’t find its way onto guitar hero. :P  -  9/10

blessthefall has a new album called “Witness”, it’s their first album with their new vocalist Beau Bokan, who is replacing Craig Mabbit doing clean vocals. I honestly miss the awesomeness of Craig, I loved that guy and he has inspired me creatively with many things that I’ve done. Beau is also an amazing vocalist with his clean vocals and he can hit some pretty high notes. For now, Jared (bassist) is doing all the screaming. Anyway, the album is really good, but it lacks many things I really enjoyed about their last album “His last walk” although there are many songs that I didn’t really enjoy as much as others on that album. Songs like “Guys like you make us look bad” and “Rise up” never seem to get old for me, I really enjoy listening to them, even on a daily basis. I feel this album lacks more Drop D / Double bass combination, and Scream/clean vocal combination too. But it also has a catchier feel to it, which their last album didn’t seem to have.

Overall, this album is really different, this band has lost some good things, but gained some really good things too. If I could get them to go back in time and have them as they were before, I think I’d probably prefer it that way, but bands change, music changes, and this is probably a good thing for them and for the fans. I hope this band keeps going and does new and better things as time goes by. I really enjoy listening to this album and I think it’s something new for me, which is good. 8/10

I’d really recommend you pick any of these two albums up if you get the chance, they’re both amazing bands and I love listening to their music.
